The action of nurses in the management of preoperative anxiety in patients undergoing cardiac surgery – Systematic Literature Review
Abstract
The objectives of the study are to review the guidelines based on evidences that will help the intensivist nurse in the identification and conduct of nursing care related to the surgical preparation. For this purpose, it was used as a methodology for the integrated revision of the literature, by means of searches in virtual databases, computerized, of articles available in the period between 2011 to 2017, considering a PICO strategy. The articles were classified according to the levels of scientific evidence and clinical relevance.
The study sought to answer the clinical question: can a preoperative nursing coordination to the cardiac and / or family patient reduce as complications related to the anxiety of the surgical procedure? Our results highlight the importance of the nurse in the activities related to the surgical preparation, among them and the assistance systematization of the action, including the use of an instrument, the strengthening of the interpersonal relationship between professional, patient and family and an introduction of multimodal interventions.
