What is the best digital technology for the enteral tube nursing intervention in ICU - Systematized Literature Review

Abstract


Objective: Search the professional scientific literature for digital technologies, their characteristics and their purpose of use to optimize the nursing intervention with enteral nutrition in ICU. Methodology: In this study, a systematic review of the literature was carried out, according to the PICOT methodology, whose data collection was carried out from 2013 to 2020, in the electronic databases BVS, Scielo and PubMed. Discussion: According to the selected articles, nursing care is essential to prevent serious complications in patients using enteral nutritional therapy, as well as the need for technical knowledge in the proper handling of tubes. Conclusion: This study sought to highlight the importance of technologies and nurses' clinical preparation based on scientific evidence, allowing for safe, efficient, qualified, humanized and comfortable nursing care for patients using enteral nutritional therapy.
