What is the best digital technology for nursing intervention to bathe the patient in the ICU - Systematized Literature Review

Mayki Bruno dos Santos Gonçalves, Isabel F Cruz

Abstract

Objective: Search the professional scientific literature for digital technologies, their characteristics and their purpose of use which can optimize the nursing intervention to bathe the patient (ICNP® code: 10045986), as well as have a positive impact on the therapeutic results of the( a) high complexity patient. Methods: This is a descriptive and exploratory study of systematic literature review. The inclusion criteria are full texts, within the study proposal and published between the year 2013 to 2021. The exclusion criteria, on the other hand, were incomplete texts, requiring funding to access them. The search took place in the main online health databases. Results: Studies predominate Brazilians with seven studies, one German, one Peruvian, and one Australian. With more density at the end of the decade, with eight studies from 2015 and one from 2013 and another from 2014. Several types of digital technologies were found that can facilitate or improve the nursing intervention bathing highly complex patients under intensive care. Such as heating and water storage devices, videos and digital booklets, health education and others. Conclusion: It is concluded that there are several technologies that could be incorporated into the health service to facilitate the procedure, reduce risk to the patient, provide greater well-being, relieve pain without the use of medication, muscle relaxation, provide self-esteem and self-fulfillment. Thus, nursing should increase its scientific studies regarding the costs and benefits of incorporating health technology to prove by numbers the benefit of digital technology in helping to bathe the patient.
