Abstract

Abstract: This study is a bibliographical research on the use of Digital Information Technologies that support the control and maintenance of glycemic levels, as well as the improvement of the respective care or nursing interventions in order to quickly and safely achieve the therapeutic results. Methodology: This is a systematic review of the literature, carried out between July and November 2023 in the virtual health library (VHL), database (MEDLINE) Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), Latin American Literature and of the Caribbean in Health Sciences (LILACS), Web of Science, Scopus, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL). Using Descriptors in Health Science (DECS) and Boolean operators AND and OR. Discussion: The number of individuals with chronic conditions has increased over the years. Glucose cannot be considered an innocent element for the critical patient, both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia increase the morbidity and mortality of patients. The effectiveness of digital technology in improving diabetes management has been demonstrated through clinical trial studies. Conclusion: Blood glucose control has become an important part of current medical procedures. With the development of digital technology, improved diabetes management has been demonstrated through clinical trial studies, which report a marked reduction in patients adopting a digital solution.
