Abstract

Although thrombosis generally may be relations with surgery procedures, approximately seventy and five percent of the episodes of venous tromboembolism (VT) had been occurred in clinical patients. This interned patient shows, frequently, many factors of risk, being the hospitalization in the intensive care centers, one of the main factors.
The nursing team is, inside the health team, one of the main the responsible to the VT prevention. The nursing, beyond the correct administration of the prophylactic medicines prescribed for the medical team, must have to guide and/or to do exercises with the patient, preventing the immobilization and observing clinical signals in any evidence of the VT. Studies show that the association between chemical prophylaxis; that must be prescribed by the doctor, and mechanic, that must be prescribed and be carried though by the nurses, bring a great success in the prevention of VT. From this fact, this study try to show the actions developed for the nurse in the prophylaxis of the VT.
